CASEWORK ASSISTANTS

We are currently looking to recruit volunteers to assist our Employment Caseworker with the smooth running of our daytime Employment pro bono clinics which run on and every Thursday and Friday from the Croydon branch.

Although previous experience is not necessary, a genuine interest in Employment Law is preferred. Please enquiry at volunteers@swllc.org

Casework assistant volunteers provide support to either one or several caseworkers or solicitors. Depending on the requirements of individual caseworkers, you may be asked to draft letters, deliver documents to Court, clerk at Court, photocopy bundles, observe client interviews, make phone calls, bill for work, conduct legal researches and perform any other reasonable tasks.

To be considered for this role, you must be a highly motivated and focused candidate, able to show an understanding of the services the Law Centres provide. Because of the nature of the role, we are only able to consider candidates with a LPC/ BPTC, CILEx qualification (or currently studying towards it) or candidates who already possess significant experience of working alongside solicitors.

This role is suitable for people who wish to pursue a career in the legal sector, particularly law students or graduates, or who have already developed a career in this sector.

To register your interest in volunteer as a Legal Caseworker, please complete the form available through this link:

We shall contact you to let you know whether we have any roles available that match your interests, availability, skills and experience.

If there is a suitable role available, we shall invite you to an informal interview. This will give you a chance to ask questions and find out more about what volunteering involves.

If you have a disability, health problem or any other support needs, these can be discussed at your interview.
