You must normally live, work or study in South West London or the issue must be important in South West London.

In addition, your legal problem must fit into one of the following categories:

  • Debt
  • Employment
  • Housing
  • Immigration and asylum

Our casework services are funded in a variety of ways including Legal Aid, grant funding, and where no funding exists through a fee paying service. Under each Casework Service area we have listed the main types of funding available. As of April 2013, Legal Aid is no longer available in a number of areas of law and is restricted to people of very limited means – mainly those on certain specific means-tested benefits - leaving a significant group of people who are in work but without high disposable incomes. In areas where no legal aid is available, such as many immigration and employment matters, SWLLC continues to provide high quality legal services at as low a price as possible to people who would otherwise go without access to a lawyer. If a case is still fundable through Legal Aid we need to be sure that we are justified in committing Legal Aid funds to your case. We shall look at three things: the value – or importance – of your problem (your ‘legal matter’); the likelihood of a successful outcome; and whether you pass the means test.

Please contact us to see if you are eligible for funding from Legal Aid or to find out what our charges are.

There must also be an available appointment slot.
