Thanks to generous funding from Trust for London, we’ve provided specialist employment advice, casework and representation to 500 local people since 2016 who otherwise wouldn’t have been able to afford legal help.
These include a bus driver who was losing more than £550 a month after tax, following a change to his shifts. He followed our advice and as a result his shifts were rearranged. Although he continued to earn less, his income loss was reduced to just £50 a month.

We’re really sad that Lambeth Law Centre has closed, and that despite making it through thick and thin over the years it couldn’t survive the current tough financial environment for law centres.
We’re particularly sad for all the staff, trustees and volunteers who worked so hard to keep Lambeth Law Centre open, and for the people of Lambeth who’ve lost another vital service.

SWLLC won (again!) at the 7th annual Merton Partnership Award Ceremony held on 6th of June 2019 at the Hub, in Morden. Our volunteers often go unseen, but if you look at little closer you will find them giving their time across the organisation in a variety of ways.
We pay tribute to those who do so much to assist the community in Merton and across the South West of London. This award is for you!

The Mayor of Croydon Cllr Wayne Trakas-Lawlor and Deputy Mayor Cllr Toni Letts OBE joined fellow local organisations in helping us celebrate being in Croydon for 16 years. Thanks to food and a cake donated by local supermarkets it was a great opportunity for local fellow organisations to see the Law Centre and hear about our work.
