We’re a society that believes in justice and compassion, with laws designed to protect us and help us build a life that’s good. But inequality means that we can’t all use these laws equally. Without the free or low-cost legal services our charity provides, many people we help would be locked out of accessing justice, because they can’t afford a lawyer.

Last year we helped 8,252 people to uphold their rights, stay in their homes, clear debts, resolve employment problems, protect themselves and their families, and access social security payments to prevent them from being pulled into poverty.

Because we can't help everyone who turns to us in need, even though we want to, our communities need people who believe in justice and equality to act now, so that local people can access justice when they need to most.
