Last Week at the Merton Partnership Volunteer Awards Emma McVey (pictured above centre) volunteer at our Merton office, was recognised with an outstanding contribution award.
Emma’s expertise from her time as a city lawyer has made her an invaluable contribution to the law centre for over six years, where she supports the team in offering a high quality specialist legal service to the people of Merton and Sutton. Her patience with clients and administrative support has lead to a number of successful cases, with one reaching the Court of Appeal. Head of Legal Practice Katy Forkah values her ‘accommodating nature, energy and enthusiasm’ alongside her experience. Congratulations to Emma!
Also shortlisted for Employee Volunteer at the awards was John Tippett-Cooper, Solicitor at Capsticks, who co-ordinates and attends the Merton pro bono clinic weekly at the Wimbledon Guild. John's commitment to access to justice has helped to ensure that the provision of free legal advice in Merton is available to all who need it.
SWLLC would not exist without our team of dedicated volunteers. If you would like to find out more about becoming a volunteer, see the opportunities available here. We are currently recruiting for advisors who specialise in Employment, Housing and Family Law.
