For many people, resolving problems with housing, employment, immigration, consumer law and contracts can feel as difficult as walking up a down escalator. Free legal advice from pro bono lawyers can change that.

Every week we run up to 16 free legal advice clinics for people across south west London. They're always busy and often over-subscribed, but make a real difference: 8 in 10 local people would recommend them to someone else in a similar situation. It's not just people in our local communities that benefit though. Our pro bono lawyers tell us that volunteering at our evening advice clinics boosts their thinking-on-your-feet and interpersonal skills, and expands their knowledge across a wider range of legal issues.

We are currently recruiting for advisors who specialise in Housing, Consumer, General Litigation and Contract Law.

Volunteer advisers provide free legal advice to clients at our legal advice clinics in Croydon, Wandsworth, Merton, Wimbledon and Kingston. Sessions usually run between 7pm and 9pm. Volunteer advisers will typically offer advice on housing, employment, small claims, crime, consumer matters, family law, litigation, immigration and personal injury.

To volunteer as an adviser, you must be either a qualified solicitor with a current practising certificate or a practising barrister and you must have experience in the area of law that you wish to advise on.

If you'd like to volunteer or want further information, please send your CV to and we'll contact you.

If you have a disability, health problem or any other support needs, these can be discussed at your interview.
