If you get an appointment, you must bring proof of your income to your first appointment. If you have a partner, this applies to your partner as well – unless we agree there are very exceptional reasons why not.
Without proof of income, we will not see you.
Use the check-list below to gather the documents you need to bring.
Bank statements for the last three months.
This applies to each bank, building society or savings account that you or your partner hold.
Payslips for the last month
If you are paid each week, bring the last four payslips; if you are paid each fortnight, bring the last two payslips; if you are paid each month, bring the last payslip you received.
Proof of benefits and tax credits
This applies to you, your partner and any children. Bring your last benefit or tax credit award letter – or some proof that it is still being paid. A recent bank statement may help to prove what you receive in benefits or tax credits.
Proof of other income
Do you have a pension? Do you have an income from shares or dividends? Are you receiving maintenance? Are you on a student grant or loan? Are you getting some interest from savings? We need to have proof of all other income. Bring your bank statements for the last month.
